Jeers to them for breaking the story of Obama’s VP choice before the campaign had made its announcement to their supports simply to be first. Sure, it’s their job, but we were having fun waiting for a text message.

I tend to be liberal in my thinking. No, really. I’m all for energy policy reform with renewable power sources because modern windmills are so cool to look at when driving by in your car. I guess the term nowadays is ‘progressive’ as liberal has been turned into a dirty word somehow, yet the conservatives that helped make the word synonymous with being unpatriotic have themselves no problems with naughty language. Take this excerpt from a piece of hate mail that Daily Kos got (you can read the entire thing here):

I’d like to personally kick the shit out of you. But since you’re probably in New York or Los Angeles, that’s not going to happen. I’ve been to Los Angeles. What a shithole. I’d like to get some good pizza in NY, but not at the risk of running across assholes like anyone on the New York Times, Madonna, David Letterman, or any other cocksucking liberal.

I have one huge problem with this well-thought-out debate on whether Obama as President would open the gates to terrorist attacks:

There is nothing wrong with cocksucking!

Cocksucking is a glorious and respected past time and should never used in a way that would make someone think the cocksucker is some sort of horrible, hairy monster salivating at the very thought of mouthing cock. The funny thing is this guy — c’mon, it has to be a guy. No woman I know would miss the chance of running into Madonna in NY and thumping her on the head for making it that much harder to live up to sexual expectations — should be exalting the act of cocksucking because, well, he’s a guy. If it popped up in his political jargon then you know he’s thinking about it. He’s actively imagining scenarios where he drunkenly picks up some girl but is not able to erect the “Burj Dubai” or is soliciting someone in an airport bathroom stall hoping to sting the back of a throat.

In other words, leave cocksuckers alone because you know you want ‘em. Besides, there is nothing wrong with them some mouthwash and an antibiotic can’t cure.

Monday morning I woke up with a fever of 100.4 and haven’t really shaken off the slight fever feeling since, so my reading of blogs has been sporadic at best. I could be a bitch and say none of you wrote anything worth my notice, but it’d be an assoholic lie. Instead, I will entertain/bore you with some random things that happened this week when I wasn’t lying on the couch soaked in my own man sweat.

The big thing for me was the announcement that the Democratic Party has taken John Edwards and Barack Obama’s pledge of not taking donations from lobbyists to heart and made a sweeping change for the entire party. What that means — in theory — is that the only group that the Democratic Party has to now answer to is “We, The People”. This kind of integrity is reason I am a fan of both Edwards and Obama.

You may have noticed the blog being streamlined. I had some complaints about loading time and decided to get rid of most of the clutter. Now if I can just get my host to streamline their side.

I know Twitter is free and it can be fun, but it’s frequent downtime is certainly a fun sucker. Scott-O-Rama asked several of us to check out Plurk. It has a cool interface and a verb drop down menu that is fun. Check it out and see if you like.

“The Venture Bros.” season premiere party I held Sunday night was a lot of fun. It just sucked the the Mountain Time Zone gets screwed by receiving the Pacific feed, so while everyone else got to see the show at 11:30 (or 10:30 Central), we had to wait until 12:30. It was worth it though. I watched the episode again the other night and found a slew of funny stuff that was missed the first time because everyone was laughing/falling asleep.

And a final thought: they say drinking caffeine stunts your growth. I grew up Mormon and wasn’t allowed to consume caffeine. So why am I only 5′ 6-1/2″?

Daily Kos recently posted an entry about how candidates need to have professional-looking photographs on their campaign sites which aren’t just candid shots their grandmothers took at a family picnic. On this post, they showed several good examples of great shots including this one:

My reaction? “Humina-humina-humina-humina. Who dat?!” Turns out (thanks to the photo file being labeled with his last name) it’s Scott Kleeb, Democratic nominee for Nebraska’s open Senate seat. And he’s not just some political knob either. He’s a rancher and a professor. I mean, can he be any more of a well-rounded Nebraskan political nominee? He’s blue and white-collar all wrapped into one. Plus he even uses the term “green collar” on his site when talking about his energy reform beliefs. He’s all about dropping phly catch phrases like a well-seasoned rapper.

Be warned, they include pictures of his lovely wife and two beautiful children (sorry, single gals and guys). Look for the one with him and his new-born, Maya — THAT picture will garner votes with its awesome ‘ahh’-inducing cuteness.

Yes, I know I can’t vote for him — which I totally would and not just the shallow reasons but totally for where he stands on issues as well — however, I can offer a sure-fire campaign slogan that will nearly guarantee him the office come November. If the Kleeb campaign will so indulge me:
