Frozen Yogurt Making A Comeback?

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

If the new shop in Denver has its way, yes. As I was walking around Cherry Creek North in Denver running errands for work (bank deposit, payroll), I ran across a new yogurt shop called Chill-In Frozen Yogurt. It’s a small, locally-owned shop on the corner of 2nd & Detroit. They had two flavors of yogurt: their tart plain (always available) and the flavor of the week which was sugar-free blueberry. Even with my taste buds mostly dead right now due to chemo, the blueberry was still a little powerful.

This isn’t a TCBY though. They had some sweet toppings, but most of the extras are fresh fruit which is exactly what was I was craving. And then I found out that they will blend them as well. So I ended up with a plain yogurt smoothie with blueberries and bananas in an orange juice base. YUM!

I wouldn’t be posting about this if the customer service wasn’t incredible. I was asked if it was my first time there and then almost everything was explained to me with free samples as the cherry on top. When they found out I really wanted a smoothie, they were more than willing to take what was done and dump it in the blender for me. It was a cool, refreshing treat walking back to work for sure. If you’re in the area, check ‘em out.
