New Feature: Testimonials

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll have noticed recent changes on the blog. The Blogroll and Favorite Posts sections have been moved to their own pages. Now there is something even shinier and new!

Scott-O-Rama may not be very inspired of late; however, he has been quite inspiring. He’s the reason I’m redoing the Masturbation Mix (It’ll be v1.2 — long story. I’ll tell you later.) and because of that left a message about the blog. So funny and so specifically aimed at the blog that I thought it would be fun(ny) to start a testimonial page. Which I’ve done.

If there is something funny you want to say about The Web Pen Blog, please let me know and the judges will analyze your submission and you may see it on the Testimonials page with a link to your site. You faithful readers have left many comments and if you remember one that was good, let me know and I’ll see about including it.

It’s a fun-time activity for the entire family!

Scheduled Maintenance - Mar 25

[UPDATE] I guess I should have put a warning. This post will stay up here at the top until Sunday morning then will be deleted. There are a bunch of new posts below. (You live and learn when this stuff, eh?

The Web Pen Blog may be inaccessible 10:00 PM MDT Saturday, March 24 to 6:00 AM MDT Sunday, March 25. And if you’re reading this that late, it’s time to give up the Meth. I’m just saying it out of love.

Now With Wii, PlayStation & Nintendo DS Themes!

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

I just installed a plugin that detects and displays the blog with a theme compatible for the Wii, PlayStation and Nintendo DS gaming consoles. They haven’t released the browser for the DS in the States yet, but it is available in Europe.

I realize that it wasn’t necessary, but it was fun.

The Web Pen Blog Discovered To Be Tweaked Out

UPDATE (see below)
Here’s a quick list of things you might notice are different on the blog:

  • The menu on the left are changed a bit.  There is a separate blog menu that will take you to newly created archive, about and email pages. The archive page is a long list of all the posts, the about has my profile and the awards and the email page is a contact form. I’m not getting a lot of spam (surprisingly), but the evil spammers are starting to breakthrough the java script codes for email.
  • I’ve adopted the newly adopted symbol for feed subscriptions and have signed up for FeedBurner since they have so many cool feed services which some of you may have noticed already if you’ve received an email from me recently (Thanks, Scott, for that one!)
  • There is an Amazon ad block at the bottom of the left column. It’s not there for money, but Amazon credits so I can buy stuff. Hey, I like Internet shopping. I don’t have to deal with people that way. Love you all! Mean it!
  • You may notice the Gamefly ad. Two people have signed up AND become members (there are three others signed up, but haven’t started the service). Only the first five people who help me get a new DS will be eligible to win my current DS which is in excellent condition.

I believe that’s all the update for the blog at this time. Look for the Top 20 Music Mix tomorrow!

UPDATE

  • I forgot to mention that the blog has switched to Blogrolling, so people will get credit on places like Technorati when they are linked to from this site.
  • Also, I just discovered that with FeedBurner, you can subscribe to the blog as if it were a podcast, so you can download, say, the Top 20 music mix into iTunes and listen to it there or on your iPod. Just use the URL (http://feeds.feedburner.com/webpenblog) in the “Subscribe to Podcast…” option (it’s under Advanced in the tool bar in the Mac version) and iTunes will download mp3’s and such for your listening pleasure.
