New Features

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Andy at The Spicy Cauldron has turned me on recently.

…to several new features and plug-ins. The first major one is PostReach which is supposedly a way to get your blog and posts in front of more people. I’ll be trying it out for the next couple of weeks and see. You can have fun, too. There are symbols under each post now which you can click if you feel inspired to “comment” on what you’ve read.

The other cool thing which I’m going to try and install tonight is a plug-in that will allow the sight impaired to listen to the posts here. I like to think of it as a lazy podcaster’s wet dream.

Racist & Sexist?

Some white guy made my Chipotle burrito and the damn thing fell apart within 15 seconds.

Thank You

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and comments. I’m doing fine since I actually got some sleep last night. Clayton is holding up well. In fact, he’s been pretty damn amazing throughout. The service is this weekend and I was honored with a request to put the music together for the service and the gathering afterwards. I’m not sad about Richard’s passing as I view it more as leaving the strife behind. I am sad that I won’t be able to go upstairs and joke with him about the latest in pop culture and poke fun at him at watching American Idol every night (I know, but it seemed like it was on every night). Thank you again for everything. I did pass on your thoughts to Clayton.

Next Few Weeks

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

The next couple of weeks the Web Pen may be a little slow. I’ve started what is turning into my annual house-sitting gig on Capitol Hill and — as it turns out — I’ll be helping where I can with and attending my roommate and friend Richard’s funeral. He went into severe diabetic shock on Memorial Day morning and never recovered. He’s being moved to hospice tomorrow where he’ll finally end his time on Earth with us, so you’ll have to forgive me if I’m really not in the mood for the funny. Knowing me though? I’ll find something. I’m like that.
