Flashback: Howard The Duck

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 8:47 am

This video showed up on Thomas Dolby’s blog this morning. It’s the single from the movie with Lea Thompson on lead vocals and biggest hair of the 80’s. The band was called Dolby’s Cube and the song was written by Dolby and funk master, George Clinton, who appears in the video as well. What I didn’t know is that Dolby directed the video.

As for me, I bought the 45 and played it to death probably driving my parents crazy in the meantime. One could say at a feather’s touch I loved him apart.

I’m the guy who saw that in the theatre and then sped right to Camelot Music to buy the soundtrack after the credits rolled. No shit. Sadly, they didn’t have a soundtrack album.

I heard that ABC song “Shoot that Poison Arrow” or whatever it’s called this morning on the radio. It was awesomely horrible.

That is some serious hair. I am nearly envious.

I was also have to disagree with my high-octane friend, “Shoot that Poison Arrow” is an awesome song.

“Who broke me heart? You did, You did.
You think you’re smart but your stupid, stupid.”

    Simply briiliant.
