“Happiness” Brings Happiness

By the end of the year you either will be a huge fan of Goldfrapp’s “Seventh Tree” (read review) or will be wanting to shove a tree down my throat to shut me up about it. Well, at least, until I gush like a natural spring about Aimee Mann’s new album. I really can’t say enough about how wonderfully sublime and beautiful Goldfrapp’s after-the-party-has-ended tiny masterpiece is. In case you didn’t like “A&E” (I pity the fool who don’t), you might like their new single which is far more upbeat. “Happiness” is deceptive though. The lyrics are all about the dangers of cults, but you can ignore that and enjoy the bouncing rhythm. Pun intended there. You’ll get it once you watch the video. Make sure to look for the dog at 3:09. It made me bust up laughing.
