Guest Post - Our Boy Howard Needs Your Thoughts - UPDATED
Thursday, March 13th, 2008 at 1:16 pmHoward has asked me to post in his absence. This morning at around 3am he had to go to the emergency room. He apparently needs to have his appendix removed.
As I am typing this, he is probably in surgery. He will be held for observation overnight and make sure there is nothing else going on.
Please join me in keeping him in your thoughts for a quick recovery! I will post an update of how things are going as I know.

UPDATE: The surgeons have successfully evicted the “hot” appendix (as the Dr. referred to it) from Howard. He is being moved to his room so that he can show off his new incision to all.

Clearly, Howard will stoop to any level to get attention! Seriously, I’ve got you in my thoughts. When I was 18, I had my appendix suddenly removed. For about a year before the surgery, I had all kinds of inexplicable GI problems (vomitting, abdominal cramps, etc), and the doctors didn’t know that it was being caused by my appendix which was getting closer and closer to rupturing. It makes me wonder if any of this may have to do with all the sick spells you’ve had as of recent. Feel better!

OMG, horrified to read about the news on Scott-O-Rama and then relieved to read here that the worst is hopefully past. Get well soon, Howard!

Howard thanks everyone for their thoughts… I visited him tonight in the hospital, and he is doing fine. In a little pain, but back to his sarcastic self. :)
They will be keeping him through the weekend for observation, but I expect he’ll be back with plenty to say about the experience in no time!

Howard we went to visit you last night but you were still sleeping. But I have to tell you, I counted at least two super hot docs while we were there for all of 5 minutes. Silver lining!

I’d like to see a picture of that appendix in a jar because I want to create a t-shirt that has a real appendix in a jar that says below the picture “Society for the preservation of seemingly useless internal organs” I just think it’s funny and maybe a few doctors could get a laugh out of it. Maybe they can wear it while mowing the lawn or lazing around on the porch or when they aren’t on duty. Or if they don’t want to wear it then they can pin it to their wall with tacks so they can laugh at it after a difficult day.
Or a shirt that says “Relax this will only hurt alot.”
After my EEG they said they couldn’t find the guy who interpretted the EEGs I almost asked them if they tried looking for the $%#^er on the golf course but restrained myself.
