Roundup – Week Of Jan 6

The weekly collection of interesting reads from around the blogosphere.

It’s going to be a short one this week, so let’s start with Andy’s excellent post about humanity’s ignorance of its own actions.
Hubs found this great video of a guy who can draw a pretty good circle. Freehand.
Two bits of funny:
John at For Your Entertainment posted this picture of James Brown’s casket. Funny, but I think it’s a nice tribute with the right attitude adjustment.
Pointless Drivel posted an essay in the Weblogs Tool Collection contest which I loved because it was about humo(u)r blogging. Brad makes some points I’ve tried to get across when talking to others about writing this type of blog.
And finally, my favorite story of the week: Last week’s winner was the word “truthiness” and now the American Dialect Society has chosen it’s Word Of The Year for 2006 and I love, love, love it!
Plutoed [v.]
1. to pluto
2. to demote or devalue someone or something, as happened to the former planet Pluto when the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union decided Pluto no longer met its definition of a planet

Funny, I was going to wait until you got it to look the way you wanted and then mention it. But with that attitude, I think I’ll shun you instead. You can’t see me, but I’m turning my back on you.

Hayes, I know that Howard feels great shame over that. I noticed you’d made the switch and mentioned it over at my place, and he did acknowledge you’d probably come gunning for him. Let him off the hook. Or make him do penance. Three Hail Marys and sit through an entire season of ‘Judge Judy’ non-stop. x
