Roundup – Week Of Oct 14
Saturday, October 21st, 2006 at 8:00 amThe weekly collection of interesting reads from around the blogosphere.
Hubs found the cure for you who aren’t into Cute Overload. Oh, that’s right, Ugly Overload. Other things he found this week include a deleted chapter from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and Denver’s first annual Zombie Crawl.
History Chic over at Confessions Of A Geeky Blogger has a special request of you.
Hot Doctor Wife tells the story of a delivery friend’s problems.
If you’re a Mac user, Kath found a great translator widget.
From the WTF file, Scarlett Johansson is recording an album (yes, musical) of Tom Waits covers.
‘Be homeless in style’ is the philosophy of these people that John Sadowski found.
King Of The Big Wheels posted this great Keith Olbermann clip about Habeas Corpus — or the lack thereof.
I found this sad, yet heroic report of a dog saving his owner’s life and losing his own trying to rescue his cat friend.
Rolling Stone named their 10 worst congresspersons and two Coloradans made the list. Oh, joy. Those two are — drum roll please — Tom "Mr. Bigotry" Tancredo and Marilyn "The Christian Soldier" Musgrave.
Adventures Of Mr. Behi is a blog that has made international news and is written by an Iranian still living in Iran with his wife and is a great antidote to the extremists on both sides of the world. His latest talks about rallies in Iran and a sincere wish to be part of the world as a whole.
Over at Pam’s House Blend is a report of more gay Republican hypocrisy. This time it’s reports about Idaho’s senior senator. You can judge this book by its cover over at Jesus’ General.
And finally, watch this video over at Scott-O-Rama about an extremely cool tech tool.

I’d have to say that I didn’t like the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie much at all. The old one was way better.

That’s funny when the new one followed the book much closer. Personally, I like both equally, but for different reasons. The new one really amped up the dark humor. The first one has all that great music and the tunnel was creepy as hell. Loved it!
