Roundup – Week Of Aug 5
Saturday, August 12th, 2006 at 8:00 amThe weekly collection of interesting reads from around the blogosphere.
Let’s start gross, shall we? Read about In The Swim’s creator digging whistling boogers out of her cat’s nose.
Hayes is trying his damnest to save Elitch’s Gardens here in Denver. He posted his letters to a couple of people and includes ways you can help as well.
Spencer has a great story about a neighbor who flies a Confederate flag on his front porch. …in Philadelphia.
The Goldfish tells the first part of her eloping story.
A story of some new gun laws being passed across the U.S. including Colorado over at fastlad gave me the willies.
Funky Brown Chick tells of her time in London in a very moving post.
Scott-O-Rama has some interesting news about the patches Microsoft released earlier this week.
Still on the fence about global warming? National Geographic posted a story about how Greenland’s ice sheet is melting three times faster now than it was five years ago. Whether you believe it’s man made or a part of the Earth’s natural life cycle (personally, I believe it’s a combination of both because so very little has a simple explanation), you can’t deny that more and more evidence is finally coming to light.
Andy at The Spicy Cauldron started his own blog contest simply because he could. There are some rules, but basically if you have a good post currently or want to write one, anyone can enter!
And finally,

Oh, good. I’m glad someone is reading it. :) It’s weird, but the readership of the blog has dropped off the last couple of weeks. Not sure why. Either it’s because of August (everyone is taking last minute vacations, it seems) or the blog thing may have peaked.
