Välkomnande Till Djungel

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

Still living in the heyday of his late 80’s prime, Axl Rose was arrested this morning in Stockholm after playing a concert last night in Stockholm’s giant golf ball, Globe Arena. According to reports, he had been partying in a club all night and became a little belligerent towards a security guard when he got back to his hotel.

He was apparently also far too sauced up to even be questioned or as one of the police officers, Fredrik Nylen, said, "He kept a high profile, so to speak."

Rose, deep in his drunken stupid stupor, then allegedly bit a security guard in the leg.

I’ll let that sink in.

Later he apologized to everyone saying that he was told that the Swedes were actually made of the chocolate they are famous for and was having a taste. He needed ideas for his new line of Sweet Child O’ Mine candy bars, which you can see hanging off his waist in the above picture.

UPDATE: Rose was released after paying a fine of $5,500 and $1,360 in damages to the Swedish leg he bit.

The Censored Joke

Monday, June 26th, 2006

I’ve been waffling back and forth about a mean joke I’ve been telling since Saturday. It was actually up on the blog last night for 3 minutes around 11:00 last night, but decided that telling the joke is far different than someone just reading it. Several people have been asked and the answers have been all over the board from: "No, it’s not mean. A lot of people think that way" to "It sounds like you have something personal going on" to the simple, "Evil!"

I have nothing against the subject of the joke and I have no opinion about who committed the murder since there is a scarily sparce amount of facts in the case. All I know is that a little girl was horribly murdered and it is my hope that whoever did it will have their deed’s bill come due.

So with that disclaimer in place here is the joke:

Patsy Ramsey, mother of the murdered beauty princess, Jonbenet, died Saturday after fighting ovarian cancer for years. Yes, it’s very sad, but at least we can all take a little bit of comfort knowing that she is in a much better place — burning in hell.

UPDATE 8/16/06: Interestingly enough, I just got notification that there has been an arrest and that the person "has confessed to certain elements of the crime". Press conference later today they are saying.

New Weekly Series

Currently, I am reading about 60 feeds which includes personal blogs and news feeds and thought it would be nice to share some of the best things I’ve read once a week (probably Saturdays) with those out there in the blogosphere. This community effort will be called:

I read about this earlier this week, but Spencer has a nice summary of the guy who taped his conversation with AOL proving how difficult it is to cancel your account.

Hubs has a great article about lightning safety as well as some links to the recent Denver lightning deaths.

Go to Blurbology to see Shan have an epiphany.

The Hermit has been keeping up with the huge Colorado wildfire that is still raging since he has property he just bought nearby.

A recent add to my blog readings, Heather Clisby, who just moved to Denver, writes about a recent article that she read that is a stern warning to men and their laptops. The punch line is hilarious.

Over at Pam’s House Blend, there is an interesting post put together about election reform that is a must read no matter which way you lean.

Hayes has a great rant about Six Flags threatening to make cuts in its parks.

If you are NOT a morning person, you will not find the Folger’s commercial posted at Scott-O-Rama in the least bit quirky or fun.

And, finally, if you are an Annie Lennox fan — rejoice! Billboard writes she is starting her next album.
