New Weekly Series

Saturday, June 24th, 2006 at 12:30 am

Currently, I am reading about 60 feeds which includes personal blogs and news feeds and thought it would be nice to share some of the best things I’ve read once a week (probably Saturdays) with those out there in the blogosphere. This community effort will be called:

I read about this earlier this week, but Spencer has a nice summary of the guy who taped his conversation with AOL proving how difficult it is to cancel your account.

Hubs has a great article about lightning safety as well as some links to the recent Denver lightning deaths.

Go to Blurbology to see Shan have an epiphany.

The Hermit has been keeping up with the huge Colorado wildfire that is still raging since he has property he just bought nearby.

A recent add to my blog readings, Heather Clisby, who just moved to Denver, writes about a recent article that she read that is a stern warning to men and their laptops. The punch line is hilarious.

Over at Pam’s House Blend, there is an interesting post put together about election reform that is a must read no matter which way you lean.

Hayes has a great rant about Six Flags threatening to make cuts in its parks.

If you are NOT a morning person, you will not find the Folger’s commercial posted at Scott-O-Rama in the least bit quirky or fun.

And, finally, if you are an Annie Lennox fan — rejoice! Billboard writes she is starting her next album.

Listening to: Never Say Never - Romeo Void

Where is the link to my blog rant about my ex?!?
It’s because I’m straight and its gay pride week isn’t it? RIGHT?

  2. Howard Says:

Oh, man. You just can’t please everyone. I’m sorry, ma’am, you ex rant was posted outside of the phrase “last week”. It was posted “June 15th” and can’t even be read unless you are a friend, so, Hello??, broken link. Geez!

  3. stolie Says:

I would just like to point out the fact that I, too, am a straight woman and Howard didn’t link to me either. I smell a CONSPIRACY!!!

By the way … Ooooooh, really?!?! New album from Annie Lennox? I *love* that chick!

  4. Howard Says:

HA! So you did get some useful info out of this!

  5. Hayes Says:

Thanks for the props… This is a very important one to me, and I appreciate your helping other people find it!

  6. Howard Says:

    No prob. Glad to help

Dude, you’re listening to Romeo Void? Sweet! I LOVES me some Romeo Void. Good stuff. I have that record. Yes, the vinyl. Oh, okay: Back in the dark ages, before electricity and “The Internet,” music used to come on dinner plates made of vinyl. Yes, the same stuff your above ground pool is made of. And some of us can’t let go of things so we have our collections that we started 25 years ago….now I just feel old. I’m gonna go take some Metamucil and go to bed.

  8. ClizBiz Says:

As a brand new Denverite - and struggling straight woman - I’m THRILLED to be backed by Howard. Must be some remaining hipster residue left over from my former home, San Francisco.

Speaking of which, when is the Straight Pride Parade? I mean, do we even have any?

    Anyone?

  9. Howard Says:

Cool! I get to make this joke on two comment pages now:

Denver does have a straight pride — it’s called The People’s Fair.

    Buh-dum. Tissssh!

  10. theHermit Says:

Jeff C: You’re not the only one who still has a bunch of vinyl. I like to call them black cd’s with little holes. My proudest vinyl possession is a picture disc of Divine!

Howard: Thank you so much for spotlighting the HermitBlog. Even though I tend towards the geeky rather than the humorous. I come to your blog to remind myself that there really IS more to life than construction permits, suppliers, and solar panels :-)

  11. Howard Says:

I have a feeling that most people who read this blog on a regular basis are a bit geeky anyway, so you’re in good company.
